Yibin Li | Violin

Yibin Li was born in China in a small city near the Gobi desert and began studying the violin with her father at age five. She was admitted to the prestigious Shanghai Conservatory at age 12, where upon graduation she was named to the Violin faculty. After teaching at the Shanghai Conservatory for six years as a tenured violin professor, she was driven to continue her studies in New York. She was admitted to The Juilliard School and gained her Master of Music diploma. Ms. Li earned a second Masters of Music degree from Mannes School of Music. Her teachers included Lewis Kaplan, Seymour Lipkin, Earl Carlyss, Peiwen Yuan and Xiaolong Liu.


Ms. Li has performed as a soloist with the Beijing National Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Kaohxiung Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Symphony, Hunter Symphony and Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. An active chamber music musician, Yibin Li was the first violinist of the Iris String Quartet for 12 years, and currently performs with the French-American Ensemble, regularly presenting interesting programs in New York City and Europe. She has directed programs and played chamber music concerts in many NYC venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Hall and Scandinavia House. She has toured to over 20 cities in China performing both as a soloist and in chamber concerts.


Ms. Li is the artistic director of OneMusic Project, a 501c3 organization she founded to bring together international artists to celebrate chamber music performance and education. She has participated in many global music festivals such as the Bowdoin International Music Festival and Bach Virtuosi in Maine, Red Rocks Chamber Music Festival in Arizona, LaSalle Music Festival in France, Sesto Rocchi Chamber Music Festival in Italy and Lake Lugano Chamber Music Festival in Switzerland and MusicAlp, France.


Ms. Li is a violin faculty at the Mannes School of Music, The New School, and The Juilliard School Pre-college Division. She was a visiting professor at the Xi'an Conservatory of Music and Beijing Central University for Normal Studies in China. www.yibinli.com
